Sri Lanka Asia Cup 2025 Squad Announced: Hasaranga In Squad

4 Min Read

Sri Lanka Asia Cup 2025 Squad has been officially announced, with leg-spinning all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga making the cut, pending a final fitness clearance. Hasaranga has been out of action since suffering a hamstring injury during the ODI series against Bangladesh in July, which forced him to miss the subsequent T20Is and the tour of Zimbabwe.

His comeback would be a massive addition to the Sri Lankan team, considering his game-turning capability in the shorter formats of the game.

Regular Core Kept in Sri Lanka Asia Cup 2025 Squad

The Sri Lanka team has a familiar nucleus, and Charith Asalanka has been named captain. Dasun Shanaka is the other significant all-rounder in the team. The batting department will be led by seasoned players such as Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera, and Pathum Nissanka, who are a solid top-order combination.

On the bowling side, the spin attack includes Maheesh Theekshana and Dunith Wellalage, and the pace attack is led by Dushmantha Chameera, backed by Matheesha Pathirana, Binura Fernando, and Nuwan Thushara.
