Sukhman wins IGU Haryana India Junior Boys Championship Title, Anshul and Chaitanya Top Category B and C

Sukhman Singh, who struggled to get going this week with a 75, recovered over the following three days to finish the week with 68-71-74 to win Category A of the IGU Haryana India Junior Boys Championship by three shots. Sukhman scored 288 for an even par.

One of the best juniors in India, Sukhman, won handily, finishing three points ahead of Jujhar Singh (74-71-75-71) at 291 for second place. With rounds of 65-80-74-73, Angad Singh, who lit up the Panchkula Course with a 65 on the opening day, came in third.

Jujhar, who also placed second last week at Northern India, finished second for the second time in a row.

Anshul Mishra added the Haryana title to the crown he won last week in Category B for Northern India. The West Bengali golfer shot rounds of 68-74-79-74 for a final score of 7-over 295; Haryana’s Trish Kal Kal (75-71-76-76) finished second; and Harjai Milkha Singh, the son of Indian golf icon Jeev Milkha Singh and winner of the recent European US Kids championship in Scotland, finished third. Harjai fired shots that were 75-79-75-73.

Sukhman, Jujhar, and Angad lead the overall category A and category B standings, while Anshul, the top finisher in category B, finished sixth.

Chaitanya Pandey (73-74-70) defeated Jaibir Singh Kang (75-75-74) in Boys Category C by a commanding seven shots. Aditya Tewari finished third in the 54-hole category C competition with scores of 81-74-74. Last week, Jaibir and Aditya finished fourth and fifth, respectively; this week, they advanced to the podium by finishing second and third.
