According to Narendra Somani, the President of the Hotels and Restaurants Association of Gujarat, the rates have increased as follows:
“The rates which were between Rs 5,000 and Rs 20,000 per room have gone up to between Rs 15,000 and Rs 50,000 per room.”

High Demand Expected to Push Hotel Occupancy to 80%
There are currently 10,000 hotel rooms in Ahmedabad, and most of these rooms are expected to be booked during the T20 World Cup 2026 final weekend. Experts have estimated that 80% of the hotel rooms in the city will be booked on the Sunday when the match takes place.
Due to the unavailability of hotel rooms in the city, many cricket fans are opting to stay in Gandhinagar and come to the stadium to watch the match.

Due to the rise in hotel costs, many cricket enthusiasts are opting for alternative travel plans. Fans who live close enough to Ahmedabad may make arrangements to drive to and from Ahmedabad for the T20 World Cup 2026 final.
They generally arrive in Ahmedabad by 12:00 noon (on match day), go directly (without stopping off) to the stadium, watch the match, and leave Ahmedabad after the match to return home for the night. This allows fans living close to Ahmedabad to avoid the high cost of hotels on the weekend of the T20 World Cup 2026 final.
