T20 World Cup: West Indies and Zimbabwe – Predictions and Updates

One of the most renowned tournaments of T20 World Cup, will begin from 16th of October 2022. And there seems to be lots of assumptions and speculations, taking over regarding the World Cup.

The faceoff round between Zimbabwe and West Indies is expected to be held on Wednesday, i.e., 19th October (19:00 pm onwards) at Bellerive Oval, Hobart. Both of them have been placed under Group ‘B’ among the Top 11.

The team of West Indies have revealed about their 15 team players, including the strong wicket-keeper Nicholas Pooran, who will be taking the lead. Moreover, this tournament has been reported to be the first experience of Nicholas Pooran as a captain. Along with him, Rovman Powell will be playing as the Vice Captain of the team. The team, however, has managed to win the World Cup title two times in the past. But, later on the performance of the team didn’t go on as expected, and hence last year’s tournament seemed to be a major disappointment for them.

On the other hand, the team is said to make its comeback to the T20 World Cup after 6 long years. The team, however, has managed to defeat Australia, not long ago; considering the victory they are expected to maintain the performance as well retain the form. Moreover, the team has been reported to be having 15 extraordinary players. The Captain, Craig Ervine has been reported to make a comeback along with experienced players like Wellington Masakadza, Tendai Chatara and Milton Shumba also return, recovering from injuries. 

Past records Between the Two Teams

As per reports, the team of West Indies and Zimbabwe have encountered each other in around 3 matches in T20. West Indies have managed to win over 2, on the other hand, the Zimbabwe team achieved victory at 1 match. 

Considering those records, West Indies is likely expected to move forward, but Zimbabwe is also expected to set a tough competition for West Indies.  

Well, right now it is difficult to make proper predictions, but with lots of assumptions the match will be an exciting watch.
