The Supercopa de España, popularly known as the Spanish Super Cup, is a super cup tournament in Spanish football.
The tournament was founded in 1982 and has been held annually.
The Spanish Super Cup was founded as a two-team competition played between the winners of the La Liga and Copa del Rey.
From the 2019-20 season, the Supercopa was expanded to four teams which included the winners and runners-up of the Copa del Rey and La Liga.
Here are the clubs that have won the most Spain Super Cup titles:
1. Barcelona (15)
With 15 titles, Barcelona is the most successful team in the Spanish Super Cup. Their first title came in 1983. Their second title came eight years later in 1991 and have been indomitable since then
The club has also come in second place more than eleven times and been a semi-finalist once. They won the cups in 1983, 1991, 1992, 1994, 1996, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2016, 2018, 2023 and 2025.
2. Real Madrid (13)
Real Madrid is the second-most successful team in the Spanish Super Cup with 13 titles. The first time Madrid played in the competition, they won it three times in a row, in 1988, 1989, and 1990.
Los Blancos, in the next ten years, won five Spanish Super Cups. Their titles came in 1988, 1989, 1990, 1993, 1997, 2001, 2003, 2008, 2012, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2024.
3. Athletic Bilbao (3)
Athletic Club Bilbao have won more domestic titles than any other team. The club from Bilbao is third on the list of all-time winners. They also finished in second place twice, but have never been eliminated from the tournament before the semi-finals. They won the cup in 1984, 2015 and in the 2020-2021 season.
4. Deportivo La Coruña (3)
Deportivo La Corua also has three titles. They won their first title in 1995 and replicated the feat in 2000; and in 2002 most recently.
5. Atletico Madrid (2)
Atletico Madrid have two Spanish Super Cup titles to their name. Their first victory came in 1985. They waited 29 years to win another title in 2014 after they beat Real Madrid 2-1 on aggregate.
