Serena Williams and Woods’ son, Charlie, were among those attending the event at the SoFi Center on the Palm Beach State College campus, near Woods’ home in Jupiter, Fla.

“Charlie tried to give us a pep talk, which was just him saying we aren’t really good,” Homa said after his team fell behind 8-1. “I don’t know if that was a pep talk, but our spirits are still high.”

Woods earned Jupiter Links’ only point with a strong approach shot on No. 6, but LAGC dominated the rest of the match.

“I don’t know what the hell happened,” Woods said. “I don’t hit it that far. With my old body, I don’t know how it went that far.”

The match ended with an eagle from Theegala on the par-5 15th hole.
