Bowling in cricket is pretty simple. A bowler needs to bowl six legal deliveries and an over is completed. But here are the 5 longest overs that bowlers would like to forget.

  1. Bert Vance (22 balls)

This is the officially worst over recorded in the history of the game. New Zealand’s Bert Vance once in a domestic game bowled an over which went on for 22 balls making it the longest over in the history. 1. Mohammad Sami (17 balls)

Mohammad Sami in his prime was considered to be one of the most dangerous bowlers. He was the leader of the Pakistan bowling attack. In an Asia Cup match against Bangladesh in 2004, Sami bowled a 17 ball over consisting of seven wides and four no-balls. His over went for 22 runs in total. Interestingly he bowled a maiden first over and then went on to bowl this horrible over.

  1. Curtly Ambrose (15 balls)

The legendary West Indian pacer having bowled one of the best spells of test cricket 7 for 1 against Australia once bowled an over he would like to forget. In 1997 playing against Australia at Perth, Ambrose bowled an over that had 15 balls. In the over Ambrose repeatedly bowled no-balls. His over consisted of 9 no-balls. Interestingly in the very next over the bowler went on to bowl another 6 no-balls.

  1. Daryl Tuffey (14 balls)

The responsibility of opening the bowling is not an easy one. So the task of opening the bowling is often given to best and trusted bowler in the team.
