Despite his loss, Evans made history as the first player to snatch a set from Alcaraz in this year’s tournament. Alcaraz praised Evans as a challenging opponent, appreciating their exciting match.

Daniil Medvedev outplayed Sebastian Baez with a score of 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (6), breaking the Argentine’s 12-match winning streak. Zheng’s advancement into the fourth round makes history, as she joins her compatriot Wang Xinyu, marking the first time that two Chinese women have reached this stage at the US Open.
