The Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL) returns for its second edition much to the excitement of the fans. Organisers have confirmed that the Season 2 of the second season will kick off from December 24.
Kabaddi players from across the state of Uttar Pradesh will get a coveted opportunity to showcase their skill and talent.
Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League Season 2: Format
The Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League will spread over 17 days comprising approximately 64 matches. According to the format, Season 2 will begin with a league phase followed by playoffs, with all players selected through an auction.

All the matches of UPKL Season 2 will take place in Noida.

What happened in UPKL Season 1?
The first UPKL mega auction was held on 10 June 2024.The first season of league started on July 11 till July 25 2024 in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
Lucknow Lion placed the highest bid, paying 3.10 lakhs for Arjun Deswal, while Yamuna Yodha paid 3.10 lakhs for Vinay. Abhijeet Malik was acquired by Sangam Challengers for 2.60 lakhs, Amit Nagar was purchased by Noida Ninja for 1.45 lakhs, and Ashu Singh was purchased by Avadh Ramdoot for 1.5 lakhs.
The Lucknow Lions defeated the Sangam Challengers 59-33 to win the championship.

The inaugural season reached over 30 million TV viewers according to BARC India and generated 300+ million digital impressions. Most of the viewers were from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
With expanded format, Season 2 is set to elevate the excitement with new franchises on board, more matches, and even bigger fan engagement.
