Vaibhav Suryavanshi
14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the opening batsman for Rajasthan Royals (RR), scored his first half-century in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday, April 28.
He made history with his impressive performance against the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 47th match of IPL 2025, held at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi opened the batting with Yashasvi Jaiswal while chasing a big target of 210 runs. Right from the start, he played aggressively and attacked the bowlers.
He made it tough for the Gujarat Titans (GT), who are known to have one of the best bowling attacks in IPL 2025. Even experienced bowlers like Mohammed Siraj and Ishant Sharma couldn’t stop him, as he hit them all around the ground.
In the 4th over, Suryavanshi went after Ishant Sharma and scored 28 runs, hitting three sixes and two fours, while two deliveries were wide.
He kept up the attack in the next over against Washington Sundar and reached his half-century in just 17 balls. During his innings, he hit shots in the following order: 0, 6, 1, 0, 1, 0, 1, 6, 6, 4, 0, 6, 4, 6, 0, 6, 4. It was a brilliant way to score his first-ever fifty in the IPL.
