Arsenal are reportedly readying a transfer “proposal” for Viktor Gyokeres amid the “blackmail” saga that has broken out at Sporting.
Viktor Gyokeres has made it clear he wants to take on a new challenge this summer
Sweden international striker Gyokeres has made it clear he wants to take on a new challenge this summer after two prolific years in Portugal. He is said to have gone on strike in an effort to force through a move elsewhere.
But recently, Fabrizio Romano, posted that Viktor Gyokeres fired back after Sporting president words: “There’s a lot of talk at the moment, most of it is false”.

“I will speak when the time is right”.
A stunning situation in Lisbon, which has “shaken up the market”, has seen Manchester United and Juventus heavily linked with Gyokeres in their respective bids to add a proven No.9 to their ranks.
A Bola reports Arsenal are also prepared to put an offer on the table, with Gyokeres’ agent said to already be in London. The Gunners have been monitoring RB Leipzig frontman Benjamin Sesko, with the 22-year-old Slovenian considered to be their top target.

They could, however, take advantage of the unrest at Sporting by granting Gyokeres his transfer wish. He is said to have been left furious by a refusal to honour a gentleman’s agreement that would have allowed him to leave for considerably less than his €100 million (£85m/$115m) release clause.
Frederico Varandas has broken a promise done to Gyokeres’ camp
The situation as it stands states that the Sporting CP, Frederico Varandas has broken a promise done to Gyokeres’ camp which would have seen him leave for €60m plus €10m in add-ons but now the President has made clear that €100m is the asking price for him and anybody who wants the services of the talisman, needs to pay his full release clause.
Gyokeres will not leave for €60m plus €10 because he never made any such commitment
On June 11, Varandas spoke to the media and said that Gyokeres will not leave for €60m plus €10 because he never made any such commitment.

He also blamed Viktor’s agent for worsening the matter. “I can guarantee that Viktor Gyokeres will not leave for €60m plus €10 because I never promised that. The game the agent is playing is only making the situation worse,” said Frederico to the media.
It is also said that agreement was done in attendance of Hugo Viana, the then sporting director of Sporting who has left and now joined Manchester City. This situation has created an uproar in the market as Gyokeres was a sought after target but now with the price tag many teams would be looking at further options to solve their striker issues.
