Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma raise over Rs 11 crore for COVID-19 relief!

Virat and Anushka recently posted a video on social media where they thanked all their fans for their overwhelming support. They also told that they have surpassed the target and raised over Rs 11 crores.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma partnered with the fundraising platform Ketto and announced this initiative on 7 May. They partnered in this initiative to help the country in the fight against the second wave of the pandemic by raising money. The initiative was named #InThisTogether.

On Friday, the couple announced that they have surpassed their target by raising over Rs 11 crores. Anushka and Virat together made a contribution of Rs 2 crores in this fundraising campaign.

Virat Kohli and Anoushka Sharma took to social media on Friday and revealed the total funds raised stands at Rs 11,39,11,820, The amount will be donated to Act Grants, which will work towards providing oxygen, medical manpower, vaccination awareness, and telemedicine facilities all through the pandemic.

It is to be noted that India is facing a catastrophic wave of COVID-19. According to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday, 3,43,144 people tested positive for coronavirus in a day, taking India’s COVID-19 tally of cases to 2,40,46,809, while the death toll rose to 2,62,317 with 4,000 daily fatalities.
