As if being the son of former explosive batsman of the Indian cricket team Virender Sehwag was not enough, he too has followed in his footsteps. In the Under-18 Cooch Behar Trophy, Sehwag’s son Aryavir has done wonders by scoring a stormy double century. He did this feat against Meghalaya while playing for Delhi.
Indian cricket team’s flamboyant batsman Virender Sehwag may have retired from this game, but his cricketing skills are still talked about today. When Virender used to come on the field to bat, fear used to be created in the minds of the bowlers. Sehwag’s fearless style was liked by the fans. Something similar is now being done by his son Aryavir.
Aryavir is a part of the Under-19 team in Delhi cricket and he is at present playing in the Cooch Behar Trophy. Cooch Behar Trophy is India’s prestigious tournament in age group and many famous players have played in it. Now Virender Sehwag’s son Aryaveer has created a sensation in Cooch Behar Trophy with explosive batting just like his father.
Aryaveer Sehwag hit an unbeaten double-century
The great explosive batsman of India, Virender Sehwag’s son Aryaveer rattled up an unbeaten 200 runs for Delhi in 229 balls in the Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy against Meghalaya on Thursday. He, who came opening the innings with Arnav Bugga, hit 34 fours and two sixes during his special innings. The way Aryaveer batted on the field seemed that he was wielding a sword and not the bat. Some of his shots were exactly like his father Virender. Therefore, this is the reason why it is being said that Aryaveer has taken after his father in batting.
Apart from Aryaveer, Bugga showed what he is made of by scoring 114 runs off 108 balls. Chasing 260 runs by Meghalaya, Delhi racked up 468 runs for the loss of two wickets in 81 overs till stumps on the second day, with Aryaveer and Dhanya Nakra at the crease. Nakra is playing after scoring 98 runs. The Cooch Behar Trophy is India’s premier multi-day domestic competition for the Under-19 age group.
