When the RRR song won Best Original Song at the 2023 Oscars, “Naatu Naatu” fever spread throughout all of India. The song from SS Rajamouli’s film became the first Indian song to win an Academy Award for Best Original Song. Even Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium was humming with its echoes as India as a whole celebrated the success of the film. The illustrious Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar, who is providing commentary for the match, was spotted performing the “Naatu Naatu” dance step prior to the start of play on Day 5.

Along with “Applause” from “Tell It Like a Woman,” “Hold My Hand” from “Top Gun: Maverick,” “Lift Me Up” from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” and “This Is a Life” from “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” the Telugu song was nominated in the category.
Following a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice Award, this is the third significant international honour for the hit song “Naatu Naatu,” which was written by Chandrabose and composed by MM Keeravaani.
The fictional pre-independence story “RRR” (Rise Roar Revolt) follows two actual Indian revolutionaries in the 1920s: Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr NTR).
In “Naatu Naatu,” Charan and Jr. NTR dance together to the song’s infectious beat, celebrating the inclusiveness and camaraderie of dance. The Telugu word for the track’s title is bucolic. It demonstrates the spirit of fun in country music in its over 4.35 minutes of runtime.
The first Hindi song to win an Academy Award in the Best Original Song and Original Score categories was “Jai Ho” from the 2008 British film “Slumdog Millionaire,” which was directed by Danny Boyle. It was written by Gulzar and had music by AR Rahman.
The Ukrainian Presidential Palace’s lawns were the location of “Naatu Naatufilming. “‘s Recently, Rajamouli revealed in an interview that Prem Rakshith, the choreographer, created more than “100 variations” of the hook step for the song.
