Key BCCI Rules Explained: What is RAPP Sheet Used For?

Guidelines established by the BCCI on RAPP Sheet Usage:

1) A Franchise can only sign a Player at their Auction Reserve Price.

2) A RAPP player is typically hired by a Franchise to bowl during practice sessions (as part of a Net Bowling Group).

3) No Franchise has exclusive rights over a RB/FA/RAPP Listed Player.

4) If a Team wants to sign a RAPP Player as a Replacement or Supplementary Player, the Franchise currently signed to that Player must officially release them from their contract immediately.

These guidelines are designed to create a level playing field for all IPL Team Owners.

Official Definition: What is RAPP Sheet?

The RAPP Sheet has all players who have enlisted themselves in the Player Auction for the current year’s tournament and who were not sold, but did not take themselves out of the auction at any point. To be a Replacement Player, the cricketer must:

Be on the RAPP sheet and accept a league fee that is no less than their reserve fee; provided that they are fully available for the remainder of the tournament

Why the RAPP Sheet Is Crucial for IPL Teams

The RAPP Sheet is the main source for experienced athletes to replace injured and/or withdrawn players for all teams in an efficient manner as well as help the teams adhere to BCCI’s rules and regulations, while it operates quietly within the entire IPL season as an important component in the overall team management.
