The game was spectacular as László Kiss, a Hungarian Substitute, scored three back-to-back goals. Thus, setting a World Record for a Hat-trick scored by a substitute which also happened to be the fastest goal made ever in 7 minutes only.

It is said that the El Salvador team faced a tough time in their practice as the team qualified for FIFA when the country was going through a civil war. Due to the civil war going on in the country, the practice match was often disrupted. It is also said that the players couldn’t befriend each other for some reason, and thus, the team lacked coordination.

Initially, the El Salvador team focused on speed, agility, and strength. Their initial practice session was quite interesting, and they were moving in the right direction, but with the political unrest, things went downhill. Whereas the Hungarian team had participated in the 1938 and 1954 World Cup, the players were well-experienced in playing the game. Moreover, they had practiced extensively for the World Cup.
