Wimbledon 2025 is set to get underway from June 30 in which the best tennis players from the year to the grass-court. With the who’s who of the tennis players in action for the next couple of weeks, all eyes will be on the Centre Courts in London, England.

Looking to seize the opportunity will be a bunch of American players who are in the exciting line-up. In this article, let us have a look at the top American players to watch out for at Wimbledon 2025.

Taylor Fritz

Fritz is the top seeded American at Wimbledon 2025. He is currently the world number five and a top challenger to title contenders such as defending champion Carlos Alcaraz and world number one Jannik Sinner.

The Paris 2024 bronze medallist’s best result has been quarter-finals appearance in 2022 and 2024. The 27-year-old would hope to turn it around this edition and become the first man to win a Grand Slam since Andy Roddick who captured the 2003 US Open.

Ben Shelton

Shelton broke into the top 10 of the ATP rankings recently. The 22-year-old is yet to win a single Major title, having reached two major semifinals at the 2023 US Open and at the 2025 Australian Open.

He won the U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championships in 2024. He was part of the Laver Cup winning US team in 2023.

Tommy Paul

Currently ranked world number 13, Paul is seeded at Wimbledon 2025. Paul started the 2025 season off as the top seed at the 2025 Adelaide International where he reached the semifinals. He then reached his third major quarterfinal at the 2025 Australian Open.

The 28-year-old began his title defense of the 2025 Dallas Open, but lost in the semi-finals. The 2024 Paris Olympics bronze medallist in men’s doubles, will be chasing maiden Grand Slam title.

Coco Gauff

Fresh off from winning the French Open, Gauff will look to add another Grand Slam title to her kitty. The 21-year-old is the highest seeded American at Wimbledon 2025.

After winning the WTA Finals in 2024, Gauff began her 2025 calendar by being part of the US team that won the United Cup. He went unbeaten throughout the tournament. She had been in a sensational form in the clay-courts reaching finals of two Masters 1000 and the French Open. She would be looking to extend her clay success to the grass-court of Wimbledon.

Jessica Pegula

Pegula is currently the world number three in the WTA rankings, behind world number two Gauff. Pegula reached the singles finals of the 2024 US Open and the 2023 WTA Finals.

Pegula has won nine singles titles and seven doubles titles on the WTA Tour, including three WTA 1000 titles in singles and two in doubles. She is also a seven-time major singles quarter-finalist, having reached this stage at all four majors: thrice at the Australian Open (2021–2023), twice at the US Open (2022, 2024), and once each at the French Open (2022) and Wimbledon (2023). In 2023, Pegula led the United States team to victory in the inaugural United Cup.

Madison Keys

Keys began 2025 with bang, winning the Australian Open 2025, the first Grand Slam of the year. Currently a world number six in women’s tennis, the 30-year-old  has won ten WTA Tour-level career singles titles.

The 30-year-old could well be the dark horse that could pose a challenge to top contenders like world number one Aryna Sabalenka and Gauff.
