Striker Chris Wood scored the first hat-trick of his career as Burnley traveled to a 4-0 triumph over Wolves on Sunday and mitigated their Premier League relegation fears.

Sean Dyche’s side uncovered a slow Wolves defense as they snapped a three-game losing race to move to fourteenth in the league table and nine points clear of the relegation zone.

“Clearly, results haven’t turned out well for us in the last three yet we’ve actually been playing quite well,” Wood said.

“We knew our position was in our hands and that was the main thing, we wanted to keep it that way and this win has made it a little bit easier now.”
