World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships 2025: Format, Teams, Schedule

The World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships will take place at Willie O’Ree Place in Fredericton, Canada. The events will take place from 26 April to 3 May, in which 20 pairs will battle it out for the world title.

The competition is significant as it will provide crucial points which will be used to determine quota spots for the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026.

World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships 2025: Format

The 20 teams are divided up into two groups, with all teams within the group playing each other in a round robin. 

The winners from the round robin will advance directly into the semi-finals, while the second and third-placed teams will face in a playoff game, with the winner earning a ticket into the semis.

The winners of the respective semi-finals will then clash in the final, while the losers will play for third place at the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships 2025.

In addition, the two teams that finish bottom of their group will be automatically relegated. The eighth and ninth-placed teams will compete in a relegation playoff to determine the second team to be relegated.
