WPL 2025: GGW vs MIW Match History And Head-To-Head Record
The fifth match of WPL 2025 will be played on 18 February between Gujarat Giants (GGW) and Mumbai Indians (MIW) at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. Mumbai’s dominance has been clearly seen in the matches between the two teams so far. This match will be very important for the Giants, as it will be their last match of the season in their home state.
Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians have played four matches in the WPL so far. MIW has won four times, while GGW has not won any matches. Gujarat has always struggled, but the Mumbai team has always defeated them.
Mumbai Indians have won all their matches so far while chasing runs. At the same time, it has been challenging for the Gujarat Giants to achieve success even while batting first against Mumbai.

In the first match of WPL 2023, the Mumbai Indians defeated the Gujarat Giants by 143 runs. Batting first, Mumbai scored a huge score of 207/5. After this, the Giants were bowled out for just 64 runs while chasing the target of 208 runs. Harmanpreet Kaur scored a brilliant 65 runs in this match and got the Player of the Match award.
In the second match, Mumbai again defeated Gujarat by 55 runs. In that match, MIW scored 162/8, while the Gujarat Giants could only reach 107/9 while chasing the target of 163 runs. In this match too, Harmanpreet Kaur scored 51 runs (30 balls) and became the Player of the Match.
Three matches were played between the two teams in WPL 2024. In the first match, Mumbai Indians defeated Gujarat Giants by 5 wickets. Gujarat scored 126/9, which Mumbai achieved with 129/5 in 18.1 overs. In this match, Amelia Kerr bowled brilliantly with 4/17 and also scored 31 runs (25 balls).
In the second match, the Gujarat Giants made a great comeback and defended the score of 185 runs to win by 20 runs. Shefali Verma and Sana Mir made important contributions in this match.
In the third match, the Mumbai Indians defeated Gujarat by 7 wickets. Gujarat batted first and scored 190/7, but the Mumbai Indians achieved the target with 191/3 with 1 ball to spare. In this match, Harmanpreet Kaur’s unbeaten innings of 95* gave Mumbai the victory.
Now both teams have a chance to strengthen their position in WPL 2025. Will the Gujarat Giants be able to settle the score with the Mumbai Indians this time, or will Harmanpreet Kaur’s team continue to dominate?
