WPL 2025 Auction: The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) women’s team, led by Smriti Mandhana, won the Women’s Premier League (WPL) title in 2024. While the men’s team has not yet lifted the Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy in 17 seasons, the women’s team brought joy to RCB fans by winning the WPL in its second season.

Last season, RCB women finished third in the points table. They then won two important knockout matches. In the Eliminator, they beat Mumbai Indians, and in the final, they defeated Delhi Capitals. This victory gave RCB fans their first-ever major trophy, ending a long wait.
RCB’s Approach in the WPL 2025 Auction
In the WPL 2025 auction, RCB entered with four available spots in their squad. They used these spots to buy four uncapped Indian players. The most expensive buy was Prema Rawat, a 23-year-old leg-spinner from Uttarakhand, who was signed for INR 1.2 crores. Prema had a great performance in the Senior Women’s T20 Cup, where she took seven wickets at an impressive economy rate of 4.6.
RCB also signed three other players: Joshitha VJ, Raghvi Bisht, and Jagravi Pawar, each for INR 10 lakhs. Jagravi Pawar, a standout performer in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, took 16 wickets in 11 matches at an economy of 4. Joshitha VJ, an 18-year-old all-rounder, made a name for herself with her powerful batting in the Under-19 T20 Trophy, where she scored 144 runs at a strike rate of 175.
