Rey Mysterio might not make it to WrestleMania 41. The WWE legend was part of a Six-Man Tag Team Match on the latest episode of SmackDown but was suddenly taken out due to a possible injury. Fans were quick to notice something was wrong, and now everyone is wondering will he still face El Grande Americano at WrestleMania?
What Happened to Rey Mysterio?
During the match, Mysterio teamed up with Rey Fenix and Dragon Lee to take on American Made. Everything was going fine until a key moment outside the ring.
Rey was chasing Chad Gable back into the ring when things went wrong. As he got close to the apron, Julius Creed pulled him down hard. Mysterio’s leg slammed against the floor at ringside. It looked painful and very real.
After that, he was clearly hurt. He didn’t return to action, and fans saw him limping backstage with help from WWE’s medical team. The fact that cameras avoided showing too much of it makes it feel like this was not part of the script.
Was It Real or Storyline?
At first, many thought it could just be part of the drama. After all, WWE loves shocking twists. But this time, it looks serious. Rey Mysterio might have actually hurt himself possibly a twisted ankle or worse. This injury could not have come at a worse time. Mysterio was scheduled to face El Grande Americano in what many fans expected to be one of the top matches at WrestleMania 41. Now, it’s unclear if that match will still happen.
If he can’t compete, WWE might:

- Turn the situation into a surprise twist during the show
