WrestleMania Heartbreak: Suspended WWE Superstars

WrestleMania is the biggest event in WWE, where superstars dream of performing on the grandest stage. Every year, the show delivers unforgettable matches and moments. However, some WWE superstars lost their chance to compete at WrestleMania due to unexpected suspensions.

Here are three wrestlers who missed their golden opportunity to shine at WrestleMania because of suspension.

3. Titus O’Neil (2016) – A Joke That Went Wrong

Titus O’Neil is one of the most respected names in WWE and serves as the company’s Global Ambassador. However, in 2016, he found himself in trouble after an incident with Vince McMahon.

On February 8, 2016, WWE held an emotional farewell segment for Daniel Bryan’s retirement. After the segment, the WWE roster gathered on the stage to show their respect. As Vince McMahon was leaving, Titus jokingly grabbed his hand and said, “Ladies first,” hinting that Stephanie McMahon should lead.

Unfortunately, Vince didn’t take it lightly. He was visibly upset, shoved Titus away, and was seen shouting backstage. As a result, Titus O’Neil was suspended for 60 days for “unprofessional conduct.” This suspension caused him to miss WrestleMania 32.

2. Jeff Hardy (2008) – A Missed Opportunity

Jeff Hardy was one of WWE’s biggest stars in the 2000s. His high-flying moves and charismatic personality made him a fan favorite, especially among kids. He was set to compete in the Money in the Bank ladder match at WrestleMania 24, which also featured CM Punk, Chris Jericho, Mr. Kennedy, Shelton Benjamin, John Morrison, and MVP.

However, just days before the event, Jeff Hardy failed WWE’s Wellness Policy test. WWE suspended him for 60 days, forcing him to drop his Intercontinental Championship to Chris Jericho. This cost him a massive opportunity at WrestleMania when he was at the peak of his career.

1. Samoa Joe (2020) – A Costly Mistake

Samoa Joe’s Big Comeback In AEW: 4 Thrilling Ways It Could Happen By 2025

Samoa Joe was a dominant presence in WWE and had primary rivalries with pinnacle stars. In 2020, he became involved in a heated feud with Seth Rollins, AOP, and Buddy Murphy while teaming up with Kevin Owens. Fans predicted him to play a chief position at WrestleMania 36.

But, on February 24, 2020, WWE announced that Samoa Joe had violated their well-being policy. As a result, he was suspended for 30 days. This sudden suspension saved him from the exhibit of the Immortals, disappointing many fans who wanted to look at him in action.
