Mumbai finally achieved their first win of the Super League phase with the heroics of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan to complete a dominating run chase in SMAT, successfully chasing down a testing target of 235 runs against Haryana. The highest contributors include an incredible ton by Yashashvi and a half-century by Sarfaraz Khan, who overshadowed the excellent batting effort of Haryana.

Haryana Posts a Daunting Total of 234

Haryana chose to bat first, but their team showed a blistering batting performance that reached a total of 234/6, putting pressure on Mumbai. Ankit Kumar scored with an astonishing 89 off 42 deliveries, including 10 fours and six sixes. Nishant Sindhu was excellent with an undefeated 63 off 38 deliveries, including four fours and three sixes.

Although Tushar Deshpande was unsuccessful in picking up a wicket during his four overs, giving up fifty-two runs, Mumbai could not manage to exert than a little more control over their bowling performance. Regardless of the great score Haryana achieved, its performance will be quickly overlooked.

Jaiswal & Rahane lay the foundation

Mumbai’s response started off on a positive note with Yashashvi Jaiswal and Ajinkya Rahane adding fire to their innings with a quick half-century partnership that set the tone for the chase.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan Turn the Game Around

This battle tilted strongly in favor of Mumbai after Yashashvi Jaiswal partnered with Sarfaraz Khan. Both of them scored 88 runs in no time, tearing apart Haryana’s bowling attack.

Sarfaraz Khan smacked his way to 64 from just 25 deliveries with the help of nine fours and three sixes. He anchored the chasing team with an excellent 101 off 50 deliveries, flavored with 16 fours and one six. This dismissal did little to halt the momentum of Mumbai as Jaiswal continued playing aggressively.

Mumbai Seal the Chase With Ease

Though some wickets fell towards the end for Mumbai, the team never found themselves in a situation where the target seemed out of reach. They crossed the finish line with 2.3 overs left.

Andhra’s Chase Falters Early

Andhra’s start was poor as they were reduced to 12/3, with Nitish Reddy back to the pavilion for a duck. This was followed by further agony for the team, with 56/5 in just nine overs.

Hemanth Reddy hits a Match-Winning Knock

This was followed by an incredible turn of events led by Maramreddy Hemanth Reddy. Hemanth Reddy scored an unbeaten 109 in just 53 deliveries with 11 fours and seven sixes.

He formed a crucial 155-run partnership with SDNV Prasad

He was ably aided by Prasad who scored 53 off 35, including two fours and four sixes. Andhra took victory on the final ball, gaining their first win in the Super League phase of the tournament.
