At the Northern India Junior Boys Golf Championships held by the Indian Golf Union at the Chandigarh Golf Club, Naveen Rathi and Anshul Mishra led the winners’ parade in Categories A and B, respectively, while Arihaan Beri took first place in Category C.
The best performance of the tournament was turned in by Naveen Rathi, who finished the week with a spectacular nine-under 63 that featured an astounding 11 birdies and just two bogeys. He finished the first three days with scores of 69-75-71 for a total of 10-under 278.
Jujhar Singh of Punjab finished two shots behind Rathi of Haryana ((65-69-70-76) at 290), while Manjot Singh, also of Punjab, finished third with (71-68-68-74) at 291 shots.
Anshul Mishra of West Bengal won Category B with a score of 2-under 286 after shooting rounds of 73-71-72-70. Arjun Veer Shishir of Punjab, who shot 75-70-72-74 at 3-over 291, was right behind him.
Arshvant Srivastava made a strong comeback on the final day, shooting 73-71 over the final two days to take third place on the podium after shooting 76-76 over the first two days.
The three winners of Category A took the top three spots in the aggregate rankings for Categories A and B, while Mishra, the winner of Category B, came in fifth overall. Arjun Veer and Arshvant were the top two category B boys in the combined ranking, taking the tied-11th and tied-19th spots, respectively.
Delhi’s Arihaan Beri fired rounds of 74, 73, and 76 for a winning total of 7 over 223. West Bengal’s Varish Mohta shot rounds of 75, 76, and 74 for a total of 9 over 22, and Karnataka’s Jashan Ganapathy (73, 80, 79) finished in third place.
The Panchkula Golf Club will host the following competition on the IGU’s Junior Boys circuit.
