The 22-year-old New Zealand medium pacer with lots of future promise, Zak Foulkes, has been signed by Durham for the prevailing Vitality T20 Blast season. The signing will ensure that a young, energetic lad finds a spot among Durham’s bowling unit with international experience and who has become a thorough performer in the New Zealand T20 International side.
Zak Foulkes T20I Experience and International Credentials

Foulkes has made a name for himself in international cricket with his high-impact performances. He debuted for New Zealand in April 2024, appearing in eight white-ball matches, mainly seven T20 Internationals. He has managed to take nine wickets in that pair of T20Is at an average of 26.33.
His best performance was against Sri Lanka where he took three wickets for just 20 runs. At just 22 years old, Foulkes shows tremendous professionalism, and joining the Durham team will add to their much-needed international experience going in the T20 Blast.
Previous Vitality Blast Experience
Before signing for Durham, Foulkes had a short but effective career in the Vitality Blast. During the 2024 season, he played for the Birmingham Bears in seven games, where he proved himself with the ball by taking eight wickets. This experience in the competition beforehand will be of advantage to both Foulkes and Durham, as he already knows the pressure and intensity of T20 cricket in England.
