Zim Afro T10: Stats and records from the first season

Zim Afro T10 finished its first season with Durban Qalandars winning the trophy. Johannesburg Buffaloes ended as the runner-up in the five-team tournament. This article will take a look at the stats and records from the first season.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz

Rahmanullah Gurbaz topped the charts for most runs scored in Zim Afro T10. The 21-year-old wicketkeeper batter from Afghanistan 282 runs in nine matches. He played at a high strike rate of 195.83 and his season included 26 sixes and 18 fours.

Tim Seifert

Another wicketkeeper batter makes his way onto this list. 28-year-old, Tim Seifert from New Zealand scored the second most runs. Seifert scored 271 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 205.30. He hit 25 fours and smashed 20 sixes.

Hazrattulah Zazai

Hazrattulah Zazai in his short career has earned a name for himself for his high strike rate. It is no surprise that he features on this list. Zazai scored 270 runs in 10 matches at a strike rate of 156.98.

Highest Batting Strike Rate

Karim Janat

Karim Janat had the highest batting strike rate in the tournament. In nine matches, the all-rounder from Afghanistan scored 152 runs at a strike rate of 220.29. He hit 21 boundaries including eight fours and 13 sixes. 

Asif Ali

Asif Ali with a strike rate of 211.70 features second on this list. The highly explosive batter from Pakistan scored 199 runs. He smashed eight fours and 19 sixes.

Ravi Bopara

The veteran batting all-rounder from England features third on this list. Ravi Bopara who is known for his high striking ability in May 2023 smashed all the records as he scored 144 runs in just 49 balls. Bopara in Zim Afro T10 scored 109 runs at a strike rate of 209.62.

Most Wickets

Brad Evans

Brad Evans, the local hero from Zimbabwe tops the list for most wickets taken in the tournament. In 11 matches he took 14 wickets at a bowling average of 16.07. His best bowling figure in the tournament was 4 wickets for 16 runs against the Harare Hurricanes.

Mohammad Hafeez

The veteran Pakistani all-rounder features second on this list. 42-year-old Mohammad Hafeez took 12 wickets at a bowling average of 11.58. He even registered the best bowling figures of the tournament as picked up 6 wickets while giving away just 4 runs against the Joburg Buffaloes.

Tendai Chatara

Third on the list is another Zimbabwean cricketer. Tendai Chatara in 11 matches took 12 wickets at a bowling average of 18.50. His best bowling figures came against the Bulawayo Braves where he took 3 wickets while conceding just 9 runs.

Best Economy

Sheldon Cottrell

Sheldon Cottrell bowled with the best economy in the tournament. His economy stood at 7.21 after bowling 13.1 overs. He was not efficient while taking wickets as he only picked up four wickets in seven games.

Taksin Ahmed
In the seven matches Taksin Ahmed played he took 11 wickets while his economy rate was also impressive as he conceded only 7.21 RPO.

Noor Ahmad

The latest mystery spinner from Afghanistan is Noor Ahmad. Noor bowled at an economy of 8.50 RPO. After impressing fans and experts in the IPL he carried on his form in Zim Afro T10.
