Zimbabwe vs Oman: Oman increased their morale before the T20 World Cup 2026 by beating Zimbabwe by four wickets in a high-scoring warm-up match in Colombo. An impressive fifty by Jatinder Singh and a late show by Jiten Ramanandi turned out to be the turning point in the match between Zimbabwe and Oman.

Both teams are scheduled to face each other again in their first match of the tournament on February 9 at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC), Colombo.

Jatinder Singh Leads Oman’s Successful Run Chase

Oman’s opening batsman Jatinder Singh began the innings with a fluid 55 off 33 balls, hitting the ball cleanly and keeping the required run rate in check as they chased a difficult target of 188.

Their captain Aamir Kaleem started the momentum for his team with a brisk 23 off 11 balls, featuring two fours and two sixes. Jatinder then shared a vital 79-run partnership with Hammad Mirza, who scored 35 off 25 balls, putting Oman in complete control of the chase.

Ramanandi’s Late Cameo Seals the Win

When the race to get across the finish line was winding down, Jiten Ramanandi was looking to make sure there were no unforeseen issues going on right before making it to that finish. Having a very aggressive yet calm inning of 34 runs (off of 18 balls), Jiten led Oman across the finish line with four visible baseballs left on the field giving Oman increased confidence heading into T20 World Cup 2026.

Zimbabwe’s Explosive Start Sets Up Competitive Total

Zimbabwe was sent in to bat, and they began with aggression. Brian Bennett dominated the early play, hitting 56 off only 28 balls in an explosive opening partnership of 86 runs with Brendan Taylor.

But Oman’s bowlers fought back strongly, cutting Zimbabwe down to 94 for 5 in the 11th over. Taylor retired hurt on 26 as the balance suddenly turned in Oman’s favor.

Zimbabwe vs Oman: Musekiwa Rescues Zimbabwe’s Innings

Zimbabwe’s counter-attack was led by Tashinga Musekiwa, who blasted an unbeaten 54 off 28 balls. He also contributed crucial partnerships 43 runs for the sixth wicket with Dion Myers and 33 runs for the seventh wicket with Brad Evans to help Zimbabwe post a respectable 187. Although Zimbabwe got a late start, their total was still not enough for the disciplined batting display put up by Oman.
