With an incredible display of batting skill, the Punjab Kings created T20 history on Friday by pulling off the most successful run chase in the format’s history. They completed this incredible achievement against the Kolkata Knight Riders, easily surpassing the challenging 262 run total en route to an eight-wicket victory.
Kolkata had a brilliant start while batting first. Phil Salt and Sunil Narine made a partnership of 138 runs for the first wicket, in which Phil Salt (75 runs in 37 balls) and Sunil Narine (71 runs in 32 balls) made the scores. At the end of 20 overs, Kolkata’s score was 261/6.
The Punjab team, which came out to chase this, made a brilliant start and scored 90+ runs in just 6 overs. Prabhsimran Singh was run out after scoring 54 runs in 20 balls. After that, Jonny Bairstow played an inning of 108 runs on 48 balls. Supporting him, Shashank Singh gave Punjab victory by playing an innings of 68 runs in 28 balls.
