Canadian sensation Summer McIntosh set yet another world record as she claimed the women’s 200m butterfly title at the 2024 World Aquatics Short Course Swimming World Championships (25m) in Budapest, Hungary.

The 18-year-old pool superstar clocked a 1:59.32 to finish on top of the podium. She finished ahead by more than a second-and-a-half ahead of American Regan Smith (2:01.00), who took silver. Elizabeth Dekkers of Australia completed the podium at 2:02.91.

It’s Summer McIntosh’s second world record and second gold medal of the championships; after she broke the 400m freestyle record on Tuesday (10 December).

On the other hand, American Gretchen Walsh continued her great run, winning her third gold medal of the event in the 100m freestyle final. She touched the wall at 50.31, an American and Championship record. France’s Beryl Gastaldello (50.63) and Team USA’s Kate Douglass (50.73) took silver and bronze, respectively.
