The Khelo India Youth Games 2025 is set to bring together budding talents from various sports in a show of endurance and determination. The upcoming edition is scheduled to be held from May 4 to 15.
The games will take place across five cities in Bihar- Patna, Rajgir, Gaya, Bhagalpur and Begusarai. Three events– shooting, gymnastics and track cycling– will be held in the capital city of New Delhi.
Around 10,000 participants, including athletes and volunteers from 36 states and Union Territories are expected to take part in the seventh edition of the Khelo India Youth Games.
Khelo India Youth Games 2025: Sports to feature
The 2025 edition of the Youth Games will feature 28 sports which will be held in the Olympic, non-Olympic as well as indigenous disciplines.
In keeping with the transforming landscape, for the first time ever, Esports is set to be included in the Youth Games as a demonstration sport.

About Khelo India Youth Games
The Khelo India Youth Games is contested as a team championship, where individual and team performances contribute to the overall medal tally of each state or UT. The contingent securing the most gold medals is crowned the champion.
At the 2024 edition held in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra defended their title with 57 gold medals, 48 silver and 53 bronze, securing their fourth championship.

Notably, Maharashtra and Haryana are the only two states that have won the Khelo India Youth Games titles so far. The latter clinched the title in 2018 and 2022.
The Khelo India Youth Games are part of the Indian government’s Khelo India initiative which provides a competitive platform to youth from schools and colleges to showcase their skills in sports. It gives them an opportunity to nurture their talent.
