The head coach of Team India, Gautam Gambhir, recently discussed his feelings about India’s performance against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series. He said on: “We were just one session, one bowler short of winning the series against Australia.” His statement underlines how close India came to winning the Test series, but a few critical factors kept them back.

Gautam Gambhir is known for his honest opinions. He pointed out that victory and defeat can come down to small details at the international level. He believes that India lacked depth in their bowling performance and the execution in key moments was not up to the mark. If these aspects had been better, India could have won the series.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-2025 featured a 5 match Test series between India and Australia held from 22 November 2024 to 5 January 2025. Australia won the series 3-1, regaining the trophy after a decade.
