The most thrilling rivalry match of IPL 2026 between RCB vs CSK ended with RCB winning the game one-sidedly after defending one of their biggest totals against CSK of 250 runs due to the late fireworks of Tim David, who played a knock of 70 runs unbeaten off 25 balls. CSK got all out at 207, and RCB grabbed the victory by 43 runs.

RCB vs CSK: RCB After Scoring an Enormous 250 Run Score

Royal Challengers Bengaluru showed an exemplary batting performance by scoring an enormous 250-run score in just 20 overs.

Tim David stole the show with a blistering unbeaten 70. Rajat Patidar and Devdutt Padikkal laid the foundation. The final 5 overs yielded a staggering 97 runs, completely shifting momentum.

Although they had a fairly good beginning with the bat, CSK failed to sustain their momentum in the end overs, thus giving away victory to RCB.

Tim David and Rajat Patidar provided a lot of firepower for RCB’s batting order, allowing them to score 250 runs in their innings. In their match against Chennai Super Kings in the IPL – 2026, RCB batted first and set an incredible total of 250/3 in just 20 overs.

RCB vs CSK – Fast Starts from Top of the Order

RCB started the match out aggressively, with Phil Salt getting runs at will and helping build momentum to get through the Powerplay in a big way.

He made his 46 off 30 balls. His fellow teammate, Virat Kohli, added a valuable 28 from 18 balls always falling short of the necessary score to earn him a larger innings. Devdutt Padikkal established himself by scoring 50 off of 29 balls continuing to back his team into a strong position to win the match.

RCB opened up a lead in the mid-innings of the match.

RCB continued its steady pace by regularly making big shots throughout the remaining time following the six-over mark. Their total moving past the 150 run mark occurred with the help of a partnership between Padikkal and Patidar which also seemed to have added to the pile of increasing pressure on to the CSK bowlers.

Chennai bowlers were not able to have a concrete plan, with nearly every bowler going for a lot of runs. The final five overs of the innings were the time when RCB scored 97 runs, completely turning the match around.

Rajat Patidar scored an impressive 48 runs in 19 balls and Tim David turned the match around completely and scored 70 runs in 25 balls. By hitting large sixes continuously and disrupting the line and length of the CSK bowlers, they were able to disrupt both bowlers and the match itself.

CSK Bowlers Prove Ineffective

The bowling unit of the Chennai Super Kings was an utter flop today. Every bowler – Khaleel Ahmed, Matt Henry, Noor Ahmad, and Overton was unable to control the number of runs being scored. Even early in the match both Shivam Dube and Anshul Kamboj took one wicket but no major wickets for their team have come from them.

A target of 250 runs is always a daunting task in T20 cricket consequently, this match has now become extremely difficult for CSK. If Chennai is to win this game, they will have to set the record for the second-highest successful run chase in the history of the IPL.

CSK’s Nightmare Start in the Chase

Hunting down 251 was never going to be an easy task for Chennai Super Kings, but it got worse from there, Gaikwad was out in the first over. Samson’s struggles continued as he could not make any impact. The early dismissals left CSK stranded at 30/3 in less than 3 overs.

Sarfaraz Khan’s Lone Resistance

Amid the collapse, Sarfaraz Khan stood tall:

Scored a brilliant 50 off 25 balls

Played classical strokes under pressure

Looked like the only batter capable of mounting a challenge

However, his dismissal via stumping off Krunal Pandya proved to be a turning point.

Middle-Order Collapse Seals CSK’s Fate

There were no comebacks for CSK’s inning after losing important wickets:

  • Shivam Dube got out due to an exceptional catch from Jitesh Sharma
  • Prashant Veer looked promising but couldn’t continue after scoring 43 runs quickly
  • Jamie Overton attempted to make a comeback through his aggressive strokes but failed at last

165/7 in just 15.1 overs signaled the end of their inning.

At the end Jamie got dismissed at 37 and from thereon the team got all out at 207 and lost the match by 43 runs.
