India has seized their back-to-back T20 World Cup title under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav. But he would have never imagined that due to his form he might be removed from the captaincy. According to media reports Sheryas Iyer could soon relplace him from the captaincy. The decision was taken during the BCCI meeting on Thursday. According to reports Iyer will attend the meeting on Saturday where Team India’s squad will be picked for the Ireland and England and alongside the Asian Games. 

Iyer’ Luck is unreal

From being out of the men’s T20 Squad, even though not being in the squad for a long time. Now he is supposed to be Indian men’s T20I captain . He played his last T20I match against Australia back in 2023. Now, he is all set to make his comeback in the Indian team also not as just a player. He will take the charge of the captaincy as well. Soon, BCCI will announce the Indian men’s squad for the T20i Series.

Shreyas Iyer in IPL

Shreyas Iyer has been in incredible form for the last couple of seasons in the IPL. During this season he played beautifully despite the downfall of his franchise in the last matches, He performed so well and scored 498 runs in 16 matches. Also Shreyas Iyer aka ‘Sarpanch Saab’ led his team to finals of IPL 2025 where he lost against RCB. But in that season too he performed differently and proved his worth in t20 cricket as well. Iyer can play more explosively he will get a chance to lead the Indian team in men’s T20 international.

Team India in T20I 

India will play their next match against Ireland where India will play two matches before heading to England for the five T20I matches and three ODI matches. The first t20i match will be played against Ireland on June 26 and another match will be on 28th June. The Indian team is one of the strongest sides currently in world cricket. Therefore the BCCI wants to build it stronger for further dominance.
