RR vs DC clash of IPL 2026 turned out to be one of the greatest matches ever in IPL history, Delhi Capitals completed a historic run chase against Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, by scoring 226 runs and defeating RR by seven wickets on the back of KL Rahul’s 75 runs.

Delhi Capitals: 226/3 (19.1 overs)

Result: Delhi Capitals won by 7 wickets

With five balls remaining, Delhi Capitals successfully completed an impressive run chase of 226 runs the highest in Delhi Capitals IPL history.

Rajasthan Royals Batting First Posted A Big Score

Rajasthan had a great batting performance in the first innings with a total of 225 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Captain Riyan Parag scored 90 runs from 50 balls but missed out on a century.

An explosive innings by Donovan Ferreira scoring 47 runs off 14 balls at the end of the innings took Rajasthan’s score to 225 runs. Other major contributors during the middle of the innings were Dhruv Jurel and Ravindra Jadeja.

RR vs DC: Explosive Start by Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals started strongly on their chase of 226 with Pathum Nissanka providing them with a fast start, scoring his first IPL fifty in 33 balls (62).

KL Rahul also provided excellent support as he anchored the innings for Delhi and accelerated at appropriate times leading to his score of 75 runs in 40 balls while keeping Delhi in the lead throughout their chase of 226 runs.

Middle Overs Momentum Shift

Nissanka, being out, saw Rana have a great team performance against the Royals, who quickly regained their pace. Rana helped keep the run rate manageable with an aggressive innings of 33 runs from just 17 balls.

Despite the Royals making a brief comeback for some quick wickets; the Capitals maintained their composure during the comeback period, and continued to push to win.

RR vs DC: Calm Finish Under Pressure

The last few overs saw Stubbs and Sharma play with composure. Their intelligent batting and scoring of boundaries helped them bring the game back under control. A key turning point in the game was when the fielding attempt by Ravi Bishnoi went awry, leading to a vital boundary for DC.
