DC vs KKR, IPL 2026: In the match between the Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders turned out to be an extremely high-scoring match by both teams, and at the end Delhi won by 40 runs.

DC dominated KKR throughout the high-scoring contest. In the chase of 204 runs target, Kolkata Knight Riders were dismissed for 163 runs in a mere span of 18.4 overs. DC reached to 14 points at last ending the league stage of the IPL 2026.

DC vs KKR: Delhi Capitals Post Massive 203/5

After opting to bat, the Delhi Capitals gave a blistering batting performance and a mammoth total of 203/5 in 20 overs. KL Rahul again made a significant contribution for his team by scoring a half-century.

Sahil Parakh also was in form playing an aggressive knock, along with Axar Patel’s innings in the middle overs. Some death over bundaries by Ashutosh Sharma and David Miller led DC post a total of 203 runs.

DC vs KKR: Ajinkya Rahane Fights Lone Battle

Kolkata Knight Riders in return opened batting with positive intent from Finn Allen and Rahane. Allen played fearless shots  against Mitchell Starc during the powerplay but was dismissed by Lungi Ngidi.

Later, Rahane took the charge in the chase and scored an unbeaten 63 off 39 deliveries for KKR and kept the hope of KKR alive. However, the positive momentum broke when Kuldeep Yadav came in to bowl for Delhi Capitals.

Kuldeep Yadav Turns the Match Around

The game-winning spell came from Kuldeep Yadav who bowled with amazing figures of 3/29 from 4 overs for DC against KKR.

Ajinkya Rahane

Rinku Singh

At one point, he was just one dismissal away from recording his hat-trick.

Lungi Ngidi and Starc Finish the Job for DC

Delhi Capitals, after Kuldeep’s successful overs, DC took took the game in their favor. Lungi Ngidi dismissed the tail-enders by taking three wickets, along with help from Mitchell Starc in the last 10 overs of the innings. KKR was not able to score any further and managed to to reach 163 all out.

KKR Batting Collapse

While KKR was in a comfortable position during the initial stage of the innings, Kolkata started losing their wickets in frequently:

  • Rahane got out while trying to speed up
  • Rinku Singh was out on the very next delivery
  • Rovman Powell got run out due to an accurate direct hit
  • The lower order batsmen could not provide any help

DC vs KKR: Playoff Hopes Officially End for Kolkata

This result ended all playoff dreams for the Kolkata Knight Riders. Before that, Rajasthan Royals defeated Mumbai Indians, and knocked out KKR and Punjab Kings from the playoffs competition.

As for Delhi Capitals, they managed to end their season on a positive end by getting 14 points after a series of disappointing losses throughout the tournament.
