Sri Lanka Women vs Ireland Women: Chamari Athapaththu Won the Toss 

Sri Lanka Women vs Ireland Women, both the captains, Chamari Athapaththu of SL-W and Gaby Lewis, the IRE-W captain, were looking to win the important toss. Sri Lanka Women won the toss and decided to field first, and according to Chamari Athapaththu, the conditions looked favourable for the bowlers, and she felt that a target around 140 would be chaseable later. Athapaththu also admitted that losing early wickets in the previous game hurt their plans, and therefore, Sri Lanka Women made two changes to their Playing XI.

On the other side, Gaby Lewis said that she was happy with either batting or bowling first and claimed that Ireland Women have shown massive positives despite losing their previous games. Lewis praised the team’s fielding and overall progression from game one to game three and expressed hope of registering their first victory in the tournament. Returning to the opening slot, the Ireland captain said she was happy to be back at the top of the order. For this important clash, Ireland Women went with an unchanged Playing XI.
