In this Group 2 match, New Zealand Women were carrying positive momentum into the match against SCO-W because of their last win against Ireland Women in the 13th group stage match played on 19th June 2026. 

NZ-W won that match by 4 runs, and their opponents, Scotland Women, lost their last match, which they played against England Women, by 38 runs in the 16th group stage match of the tournament.
