Kolkata Knight Riders’ opening batsman Shubhman Gill feels that his side can still manage to qualify for the playoffs in the remainder of the Indian Premier League. In the first half of the IPL, Kolkata Knight Riders won just 2 out of 7 games. At present, they are placed on the 7th spot. Even though KKR is not at a good spot on the points table, Shubhman Gill is hopeful for the playoffs.
“I think a break was really important. Sometimes such things happen that you don’t expect. I think we are very much in contention to finish in the Top 4. Whichever team qualifies, you never know what will happen. So, hopefully, we will win the remaining matches, make sure we qualify, and then we’ll see where we go from there,” Gill told KKR’s official website.
Shubhman Gill also shared that the team just has to enjoy their game. With that, the team has done it in the past years and so it will be possible to qualify for the playoffs. The Eoin Morgan side completed 5th in the 2020 Indian Premier League. The team is hopeful to make it to the top in the remainder of the tournament.
Firstly, it’s interesting to see such a positive attitude in the camp. However, the team will have to do well in their game to qualify. Moreover, they will have to aim at winning most matches.
