But the event also had its own share of troubles as the regular auctioneer Hugh Edmeades collapsed on the first day due to Postural Hypotension. He was replaced by veteran TV presenter Charu Sharma to ensure the show went ahead without bothering any kind of hindrance.
Total 204 players were sold in the period of two days aggregating a sum of 551.7 crores as 10 teams were left with content to build formidable sides.
Ishan Kishan made a resounding comeback with the five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians after the franchise bought him for a significant amount of INR 15.25 crore.
The Jharkhand wicketkeeper-batter was the most expensive purchase in the auction. Deepak Chahar was second on the list after CSK bought him for 14 crores.
