Indian commentator Sanjay Manjrekar thinks Yuzvendra Chahal will face a real test in Australia in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Sanjay Manjrekar feels that India should also pick Kuldeep Yadav along with Yuzvendra Chahal as he’ll provide a great bowling option on Australian pitches.
The T20I World Cup is months away and thus no team has announced their squad for it. Sanjay Manjrekar believes the wrist spinners can find it difficult in Australian pitches as there is much bounce and pace in those pitches.
“He will be tested on those pitches in Australia, the pitches won’t be the kind that Chahal relishes and that’s why I believe Kuldeep Yadav has got to be a part of the squad. If the pitch turns in Australia, then Chahal becomes your bowler, but as I said before, a flat bouncy pitch is not a pitch Chahal will love to bowl on,” said Sanjay Manjrekar on Sports 18.
The upcoming T20 World Cup will begin in October 2022. Defending champions, Australia also look set to defend their title as they won the 3-match T20I series against Sri Lanka by 2-1. Australian grounds are comparatively bigger and thus hitting sixes in those grounds is pretty difficult.
