Indian cricket team will play three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe starting from Thursday, 18th August. The team has already in Zimbabwe ahead of the first ODI. Indian team has also started training sessions in Zimbabwe. Indian opening batter Shikhar Dhawan has welcomed his opening partner KL Rahul in the team who has made a comeback in the squad after a long time.
KL Rahul sustained a groin injury before the series against South Africa and had a treatment in Germany a few months ago. He has fully recovered and thus BCCI decided to add him in the squad for Zimbabwe’s series. KL Rahul was not only included in the team but he was also named captain for this three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe. Shikhar Dhawan was earlier captain for this series.
“It’s very good news that KL is back in the side and leading the side. He is one of the main players of the Indian team. With the Asia Cup coming ahead, it’s a good outing for him. I am sure he will gain a lot from this tour,” said Shikhar Dhawan on KL Rahul during the press as reported by India Today.
