Chopra left Jakub Vadlech of Czech Republic and Julian Webber of Germany behind to claim the Trophy. As Chopra missed the first attempt with a foul, Valdech marched ahead with a throw of 84.15m. However, Chopra regained his momentum and position in the very second attempt. The best attempt came at just the second one as he threw the Javelin 88.44 meters. Consequently, Chopra covered 88.00m, 86.00m, 87.00m, and 83.60m in his third, fourth, fifth, and final attempt respectively.
However, his second and the best attempt of 88.44m remained unchallenged throughout the final. And eventually, Chopra was declared the winner as Valdech and Webber lagged behind the eminent Javelin prodigy of India. Moreover, three of his attempts remained the best as Valdech the second runner up mustered his best feat at 86.94m.

Neeraj Chopra who won the Gold medal at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics had expressed his wish to conquer the diamond trophy. And as it turns out, it wasn’t just a mere wish but a prophecy that has turned out to be true and how. The 23-year-old golden boy of India has also won gold in the 2018 Asian Games. Moreover, another gold in the 2018 Commonwealth games, and a silver at the 2022 World Athletics Championships.
Chopra suffered a minor groin injury following the World Athletics Championships run. The injury forced him to pull out of the 2022 Commonwealth games.
