Chelsea appointed Graham Potter as their new head coach. The appointment is on a five-year contract. Incidentally, Potter got appointed following the sacking of ex-coach Thomas Tuchel. The 47-year-old new coach enjoys a fine record in the EPL. Potter led Seagulls to a ninth-place finish last season. More than that, his dynamic presence and game tactics find support from several quarters, with experts hailing him as the ‘future England coach.’

Earlier, Tuchel was axed after an embarrassing 1-0 defeat in Chelsea’s Champions League opener against Dinamo Zagreb. The German, who was in charge for less than 20 months, departed with the club sitting at a low point.

The blue giants also had a forgettable start to the EPL season, sitting sixth in the points table. Meanwhile, Chelsea fans would hope that the new change may help the team get back to winning ways. Incidentally, Potter’s first game as the new Chelsea boss is a derby against West London Neighbours, Fulham. The match will take place on Saturday.
