Bangladesh Premier League Records: Batting Records of Best Strike Rates

7 Min Read

The Bangladesh Premier Competition (BPL) is a professional Twenty20 cricket association with seven teams. The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is one of three professional cricket tournaments in Bangladesh and also the world’s 16th most-attended professional league. In the winter league, each team has to play with the other team twice. Following the regular season, the top four teams qualify for the playoffs, which consist of a single-elimination game and two qualification games, resulting in the Championship game between the finalists of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board established the Bangladesh Premier League in 2011, just after the dissolution of its predecessor organization, the 2009/10 National Cricket League Twenty20. The first-ever season started on February 2012, with games hosted in Dhaka and Chittagong. The chairman of the BPL’s Governing Council supervises the organization. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) intended to hold the 2020 edition of the BPL without franchise engagement. The decision was taken following a conference involving BCB and franchise owners, during which BCB failed to fulfill the demands of various club owners. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the BCB announced in October 2020 that there will be no further tournaments in 2020.
