The disappointment of the last campaign, definitely urged CHENNAI SUPER KINGS, before the start of this season, at the auctions to be hyperactive in adding properly valued player to their squad. One of those signings for the season turned out to be, English All-rounder, Moeen Ali.
The 33-year-old, England middle-order stalwart has turned out to be one valued signing for the Chennai side. The English have solved a huge ‘Who at No. 3’ problem for CSK.
In the last 3 games, he has made 108 runs with an average of 36 and a Strike rate of 144 while battling for the yellow side at No. 3. In IPL as of a whole, he has made 417 runs from 22 matches and a strike rate of almost 155. The strike rate here recommends that he is no fluke and loves to strike down balls. Probably this went down as one of the reasons why CSK went for him at the auction.
It’s not only batting that attracted CSK team management towards it, his bowling skill too. Yesterday, in the 3rd match against RAJASTHAN ROYALS, he displayed his bowling skills that choked RR batmans. In his brilliant spell, he took 3 wickets and just conceded 7 runs.
Thus far, it’s right to say that Moeen’s been a game-changer of signing for CSK but it could be a pretty early estimation as well because it’s early into the season.
