From the beginning of IPL 2021, the Rajasthan Royals, who are in poor form, have received a big blow. The team’s star player Jofra Archer has been ruled out of the IPL. Now Rajasthan will have to play the remaining matches of IPL without Jofra Archer.
Jofra Archer was ruled out of IPL 2021 before the start of the season due to a hand injury. The 26-year-old suffered the injury when he smashed a fish tank while trying to clean it. He played two Tests and all five T20s during England’s recent tour of India but was ruled out of the One-Day International series because of a problem with his right elbow.

“Archer returned to bowling this week with higher intensity, and the ECB and Sussex medical teams will continue to monitor his progress. Archer will now step up his training regime starting next week and will be in full training with Sussex,” ECB said in an official press release.
“It is expected that he will return to cricket in the next fortnight if he can continue to bowl and prepare pain-free. The ECB will confirm which matches he is expected to play in due course,” it said.
At the outset of this IPL, Kumar Sangakkara, the former Sri Lanka captain and now the Royals’ team director, had said while Archer’s unavailability was a “big blow”, the franchise could not act “selfishly” and would take a “holistic view” about his return.
Meanwhile, the Royals are at the bottom of the standings with one win in four games.
