The Buffalo Bills are an American professional gridiron football franchise that plays in the American Football Conference (AFC) of the National Football League (NFL) and has its home stadium in Buffalo. The Bills have been in the NFL since 1960. The Buffalo Bills were an American Football League (AFL) member when they won two league championships (1964 and 1965). After the AFL and NFL merged in 1970, the Bills began playing in the National Football League (NFL). From 1991 to 1994, the Bills participated in a record four consecutive Super Bowls, but they were unsuccessful each time.
In regular-season and postseason games, the Bills’ comeback was the largest point-differential comeback in NFL history. The Bills easily won two road games in the AFC playoffs to reach a third Super Bowl. However, they lost 52–17 against the Dallas Cowboys. In 1994, Buffalo reached a record fourth consecutive Super Bowl, but it lost again to the Cowboys. The Bills made two additional playoff visits in the mid-1990s but failed to move past the second round each time, and the team’s 1990s dynasty’s major players retired.
Buffalo Bills Team Info:
Head Coach: Sean McDermott
Stadium: Highmark Stadium
Owners: Kim and Terry Pegula
Established: 1960
Even Buffalo’s last top defence in 1999 only led in total defence (272.8) and pass defence (163). Incredibly, seven categories lead the league. Since the 2012 Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo has been the first defence without a Pro Bowl player to finish first. For the first time in 22 seasons, the Bills have the NFL’s best defence. Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier led a team without a Pro Bowl player to the top ranking in total defence and six other major defensive categories, including points allowed, pass defence, and third down defence. However, Buffalo’s 2021 regular season was Frazier’s team’s most consistent in his five years on McDermott’s staff.
