The hosts not only secured an emphatic victory in the match but also avenged their 2-1 defeat to Pakistan in the recently concluded ODI series.
AUS vs PAK: Stoinis Brilliance Continues with Unbeaten 61
The all-rounder Marcus Stoinis turned out to be the hero for Australia, displaying a mesmerizing knock of 61* runs off just 27 balls. His very attacking innings saw 5 fours and 5 sixes, as Australia won the game quite comfortably. He was thus awarded the Player of the Match (POTM) for his match-winning outing.

Pakistan, who elected to bat first after winning the toss, were in a pretty precarious spot against the Australian bowlers, where they failed to keep pace with the latter’s onslaught. Pakistan’s batting lineup fell at a pathetic total of 117 runs off only 18.1 overs.
Former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam was the most successful man for Pakistan with a knock of 41 runs while wicketkeeper Hasibullah Khan chipped in by making 24 runs. Apart from these two, no other Pakistan batsman had anything notable to say.
Australian Bowlers Dominate
Australia’s bowlers were clinical throughout the innings. Aaron Hardy was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 wickets. Spencer Johnson and Adam Zampa each took 2 wickets, while Xavier Bartlett and Nathan Ellis picked up 1 wicket each. The Australian attack never allowed Pakistan to build any momentum, ensuring a modest total.
Australia Chases Down the Target in 11.2 overs
With a target to surpass 118, Australia chased the runs very easily and reached the target in 11.2 overs losing just 3 wickets. For that, Jack Fraser-McGurk contributed 28 runs and Josh Inglis 27 runs. Stoinis, who was in sublime form, finished unbeaten on 61*, and at the other end, Tim David provided support with not-out 7 runs.
This victory helped Australia win the T20 series on a clean sweep besides coming back from their recent ODI defeat to Pakistan, thereby clearly demonstrating their force in the short format of the game.
