India’s Batting Collapse – 118/9
India lost its first wicket very early, on first over itself as Smriti Mandhana departs – Tayla Vlaeminck strikes for the Aussie. Then again, it’s Tayla Vlaeminck as she picks her 2nd wicket, sends Shafali Verma back to the pavilion. As a result, India was in trouble as both openers are gone for 12/2 (2.5 overs).
At the crease, Jemimah Rodrigues and Indian Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur – both had a good season in The Hundred and scored crucial runs in the abandoned 1st T20I. However, Jemimah Rodrigues couldn’t continue her performance as she departs for 7 (off 13), India at 24/3 (5.3 overs).
India at this point were losing wickets quickly, Harmanpreet Kaur after playing a good knock of 28 (off 20) with five boundaries too departs as she was stumped by Alyssa Healy. India was 50/4.
Then after this, just a total batting collapse – more like chaos at the crease as India witnessed 2 Run-Outs and more wickets were lost. The Australian side was too good at fielding.
In end, Pooja Vastrakar played a crucial inning, adding important runs. Rajeshwari Gayakwad and Vastrakar added 37-runs for the tenth-wicket stand. It was the largest partnership of the innings.
Hence, India – 118/9, Pooja Vastrakar 37*(off 26 deliveries).
The target for Australia – 119 Runs to Win
The Aussie chasing a low-total score, faced an early setback as lost Alyssa Healy’s wicket. Amazing delivery by Shikha Pandey to bowled Alyssa Healy. The Australian wicket-keeper couldn’t do anything, as it was a beautiful delivery.
